Delete your account and data
You can delete your YDABlocks account at any time. There are two ways to do it, and both remove the same data.
In the app or on the web
- Sign in to YDABlocks.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Confirm. Your access ends immediately and you are signed out on every device; your data is destroyed a week later.
By email
If you can't sign in, email Support@ydablocks.comfrom the address on the account with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify that you control the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Your access ends immediately. The moment you confirm, your sign-in stops working everywhere and you are signed out on every device. Your data is then permanently destroyed 7 days later — that gap exists only so we can still send you a copy if you ask for one. If you want an export, request it within that week.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in | Revoked immediately. You cannot sign in again. |
| Your profile — name, email, account number | Destroyed after 7 days. |
| Everything you made — builds, projects, training examples, chat products | Destroyed after 7 days. |
| Your chats with your build and with Richard | Destroyed after 7 days. |
| Subscription and usage records | Destroyed after 7 days. Cancel your subscription first if it is still active. |
| Safety records — safeguarding alerts and guardian consent records | Kept for the same 7 days so you can still request a copy, then permanently destroyed. |
| School records, where YDABlocks was used through a school or district | De-identified straight away, then archived for 3 years and permanently destroyed — or destroyed sooner if the district asks. |
| Audit log entries | Retained. These record that an action happened and by whom, including the deletion itself. They are tamper-evident and are what lets an auditor verify we did what we said. |
Compliance and retention
Safety records. If you want a copy of safeguarding or guardian consent records before they are destroyed, ask within 7 days of deleting your account and we will send them to you. After that window they are gone and cannot be recovered.
School records. When YDABlocks is used through a school, records of a student's participation belong to the school's account of that participation, not only to the individual. Those records are stripped of the direct identifier, stored compressed with an integrity hash, and destroyed after 3 years. A district may instruct us to destroy them earlier, and we will.
Accounts that cannot be self-deleted.Teacher, school administrator, and district administrator accounts hold records describing other people's students. Those accounts cannot be deleted from Settings — contact your school or district administrator to transfer or close the role first. A separate personal account is deleted normally.
Family accounts.A parent or guardian who deletes their account is withdrawing consent for the children on it, so those children's accounts and data are deleted at the same time.
